SignalQuest Introduces Omnidirectional Tilt and Vibration Sensor with Ultra Low Profile (1.95 mm dia x 3.6 mm long) and Nano-power Operation (50nA fully active).

Lebanon, NH (November 5, 2010) - SignalQuest Inc. today introduced the SQ-MIN-200 Omnidirectional Tilt and Vibration Sensor, the second product in a new line of extremely low profile, nano-power, micromechanical sensors.

With industry leading form factor, industrial temperature rating and intrinsic nano-power design, the SQ-MIN series offers motion detection to a range of size-constrained devices such as RFID tags, GPS trackers, pet monitors, Bluetooth ear pieces, wrist watches, and hearing aids. Measuring just 1.95 mm in diameter by 3.6 mm in length, the SQ-MIN package will fit on a standard 2-pad SMT landing. Following the success of the SQ-SEN series tilt and vibration sensors, the SQ-MIN will make ultra long battery life and movement based functionality accessible for extremely small device applications. With a current demand below the self discharge of a CR2032 coin cell, the SQ-MIN allows products needing active motion detection to last 20 years on a single battery.

The SQ-SEN tilt and vibration sensor series was the first to bring US manufacturing standards at globally competitive prices to high volume mechanical sensor markets. The SQ-SEN-200 omnidirectional movement sensor has emerged as the globally recognized choice for RFID, GPS, and microprocessor "wake up" applications.
